Well known and established client is looking for an experienced self-starter, dynamic and enthusiastic Financial Manager with ambitions to be invited to join the Board of Directors in the future.
Effective management, a solid financial performance and high level strategic planning as well as suitable financial tertiary qualifications are critical components of the role. This opportunity is the linchpin to ensuring that ambitious future growth plans are unlocked in both the medium and long term across Africa.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Reporting to the MD and co-managing the Senior Bookkeeper, key duties and responsibilities will include the following:
• Accounting consulting and implementation and monitoring of best practices processes & procedures
• Analysis of financial performance.
• Ensure all businesses in the region adhere to group accounting policies.
• Applies knowledge of GAAP, accrual base accounting, organisational auditing and tax filing.
• Controls the accuracy and timeliness monthly, quarterly and annual accounts and budget tracking of the region including identification and recordation of significant transactions, adherence to deadlines, resolution of critical issues.
• Lead contact on internal and external audit.
• Monthly review of profit and loss (P&L) results to work with the MD.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining documentation related to accounting and financial reporting issues.
• Responsible for meeting all regulatory, accreditation, financial and other compliance requirements as required.
• Design and implement systems for financial management across departments.
• Manage a team that prepares accurate and timeous monthly income, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
• Oversee all monthly reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Manage submissions of various tax returns and ensure SARS compliant at all times.
• Management of the finance team with Senior Bookkeeper: Oversee the operations and activities of the department, and administer and monitor general workflow to ensure that work is performed and up to date.
• Analysis of inventory accounts receivable and accounts payable balances. This will include reasonability of days and the balance compared to budget, forecast and prior year.
• Payroll reconciliation and review.
• Manage company tax compliance.
• Review bank accounts and regulation compliance.
• Review and report to Managing Director that the cash resources are managed efficiently and in compliance with group policies.
• Accounting processes and KPI management.
