Our client is an intermediary partner between the timber producing and timber consuming industry, covering their demand for top-quality hardwood at the best price. head office is based in Denmark, your new colleagues speak French, English, Spanish, German and Danish. The group currently sells hardwood employed in a wide range of uses in the USA, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Working directly with suppliers, they are able to offer hardwood at competitive prices. To perpetuate this, they continuously strive to extend their network in timber producing countries.
This role is based in Mauritius, although there will be time spent in Denmark for training, and regional travel required.

Be responsible for the overall accounting and finance function
Joining a team of 6 colleagues in Denmark and several more in West Africa, you will manage and oversee the overall accounting and finance function for the group and its subsidiaries/affiliated companies. Working closely with management in the US, South Africa as well as your African CFO counterpart, your job involves financial controlling, accounting, communication and reporting.
Specifically, you will:
· Account for, reconcile and prepare the payment of all suppliers, managing the debtors book as well as prepayments (debtors and creditors).
· Handle stock management and reporting in Abidjan and Libreville and be responsible for budgeting (including checking the budget for Gabon).
· Prepare and file all tax returns;
· Prepare management accounts as well as half year and full year accounts for consolidation with the groups' owner's accounts.
· Audit file preparation, manage the external audit and implement audit recommendations.
· Prepare forecasts etc. for bank/funders.
· Develop/build on their system of internal controls, measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of the system.
Financial background and ready to step up
We imagine that you hold a Bachelor of Commerce, a degree in Business Administration or similar. Perhaps, you are currently working with accounting or business controlling and have done so for several years. But now, you are willing to step up and take more responsibility in an independent role.

· You speak and write English fluently.
· You have knowledge of ERP systems. They are currently in the process of switching from C5 to Sage.
· You are flexible and ready to do your bit and share your ideas in the company's future development quest.
