Urgent. To start as soon as possible! Our client, a well-established company situated in Northriding, Jhb has a vacancy for a Financial Manager/Accountant for their offices in Northriding, Johannesburg. Part of a group of companies

You will be responsible for the financial health of an organization.
Produce financial reports, direct investment activities, and develop strategies and plans for the long-term financial goals of the organization.
You will assist management make financial decisions. Must be willing to do the work from ground level to Management level.

You will be reporting directing to the CEO of the company
2 Debtors and Creditors Clerks will be reporting to you

Qualifications:
Essential:
Qualified accountant (B.Comm degree) in finance, business administration or accounting , not negotiable
Masters degree an advantage
Min 5 – 10 years’ experience as a Financial Manager/Accountant – not negotiable
Previous experience in a Warehouse environment an advantage
Preference to applicants residing in the area


Computer Literacy:
Essential:
Excel (Advanced) Experience of pivot tables, formulas, reports, vlookup – not negotiable
Word and Power Point – Advanced
Pastel Evolution
Fully conversant with the current uses of information technology in the workplace and uses IT as a management tool
Ability to work at both a detailed and strategic level – e.g. making payments and producing annual financial delivery plans etc.

Experience:
Experience in the preparation and finalisation of accounts in accordance with current South African regulations
Knowledge of strategic and financial planning including activity costing, benchmarking, donor fund tracking and KPIs
Experience in budget preparation and reporting
Experience in goods and services procurement processes
Knowledge of current practice of internal auditing
Warehousing/Stock movement
Financial experience of imports

Duties:
Year end audits
Audit procedures
Financial Management
Cashbook
Produce and distribute monthly management reports to agreed time scales
Produce detailed quarterly cash flow forecasts
Produce financial reports detailing actual expenditure against forecast to agreed timescales
Produce required financial reports for members of the team and Board of Directors
Produce annual financial reports and statements to agreed time scales to comply with the requirements of the company and the South African legal framework.
Develop annual budgets in collaboration with the CEO and Operations and functional heads
Manage the payroll system and ensure that payments are made to individuals, SARS, and Medical Aid Providers to set timetables.
Lead on tax planning, including VAT related matters.
Maintain current standing with all mandated local tax and benefits registrations and requirements, including submissions of payments and reports (SARS)
Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements relating to financial control, financial management and accounting
Ensure appropriate external audit arrangements are in place and manage the audit process
Ensure that all balance sheet reconciliations are produced on an accurate and timely basis to include bank reconciliations, debtors, creditors and inter-company account
Ensure implementation and adherence to finance policies, procedures and systems across all teams
Strong on report writing and feedback to management

Highly numerate and able to analyse statistical information and interpret financial data to produce reports which can be understood by non-financial colleagues
