A leading Software Company based in Pretoria requires an individual with sound intuitive numerical reasoning capabilities to occupy the role of a Financial & Operations Director. You will be required to maintain/ be accountable for all financial and related management and reporting aspects of the Company and provide sound financial advice and strategic support.
3 Year Fixed Term Contract.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management
- Improving the future of the company through operational and strategic improvements. Forecasting company financial position and creating awareness of potential issues and developing action plans i.e.;
- Undertaking strategic analysis and assisting with strategic planning
- Compiling long-term business plans including future cash flow needs
- Research into factors affecting financial performance and proposals for improvement
- Developing and managing financial systems/models and carrying out business modelling and risk assessments
- Meeting high standards of operational activities such as managing financial resources and debtors book, providing assistance in tender biddings and ensuring compliance to legislative requirements i.e.;
- Liaising with external parties such as the bank, suppliers, SARS etc
- Identification and compliance with all relevant legislation and Regulations (Companies Act, Income Tax Act, VAT Act, PAYE etc.)
- Forex forward cover and payments
- Credit and payment term management
- Managing cash flow and expenditure and coordinating the creation and management of budgets
- Ensuring proper and accurate recording and reporting of business transactions to meet internal standards as well as for external audit purposes i.e.;
- Collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts, commentaries and financial statements
Legal Oversight
- Provide first level legal oversight on matters such as contracts, NDA’s, standard terms and conditions
Business Support Management
- Ensure that the support functions of the company are run effectively and efficiently so that each department performs in terms of their strategic plan, developmental plan and operational plan objectives
- Guide and support the HR and BE Managers to according to the principals of a Balanced Scorecard in terms of;

Directorship
- Serve as an executive member of the Company board and assume fiduciary responsibilities in terms of the Companies Act 71 of 2008
- Contribute to the development of strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization.
- Effectively communicate and present critical financial matters at select board of directors and committee meetings.
- Identify and evaluate the risks to the company’s stakeholders (clients, staff, management), finances and implement measures to control risks

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified and registered CA(SA)
- 5 years post articles, senior financial and business support management experience (Essential)
- Strong leadership capabilities. Strong management experience; working to maximise business growth and development opportunities
- Experience in managing processes for financial forecasting, budgets and reporting
- Must have previously been a part of EXCO or within a Senior Business support role
- Proven stakeholder and relationship management skills at a Board level
- Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills
- Sound knowledge of finance, HR Management, IT technology management, the Companies Act, BBBEE
ADVANTAGEOUS CAPABILITIES
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in negotiating commercial terms with potential clients and service providers
- Experience in implementing significant strategic business change and transformation
- Senior level experience of strategy development and execution and interpretation of financial results
- Partnership management experience; working to maximise business growth and development opportunities
- Proven track record of success facilitating progressive change and development within a growing organization
- Experience in and a preference for a SME environment will benefit the candidate
