EXPERIENCE IN THE FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR IS ESSENTIAL

• maintain a strong financial control environment on behalf of the Shareholders within the Investment Products.
• generate financial information from the applicable systems and to liaise with other teams

• Proactively manage, analyse and investigate the Asset minus Liabilities process to minimize the financial risk across all asset classes
• implement action plans to resolve variances identified.
• Review the profit margin and comment of the performance of the asset class that is assigned to the role on an ongoing basis.
• Will be required to assist with licence transfer project in the short term
• To ensure that all the financial accounting transactions, are accurately and timeously reflected in the general ledger for reporting and analysis purposes.
• Assist in compiling the report and first level investigation on the Asset and Liabilities matching Monitor & reports on the status of all control accounts within the business unit.
Drive action with the responsible parties to clear reconciling items.
• Analyse the profits resulting from the fixed bond margins and articulate the driver of profits
• Implement the necessary processes and controls as a result of changes in the business or changes to administration platforms and accounting systems
• Manage own reporting requirements on the assigned asset classes
• Drives & collates monthly submission of reports and commentary within the agreed deadlines.
• Assist in providing commentary on Investment Contracts and submit this to the review committee on a monthly basis.
• Produces ongoing and ad-hoc reporting based on requirements from business unit, Central Finance and other stakeholders.
• Support projects such as the implementation of new IFRS standards
• Responsible for producing the A-L report from the data warehouse.
• Investigate variances that arise from the Asset minus Liabilities and implement action plans on how to resolve these issues and incorporate them into the BAU processes.
• Provide input on the enhancement and maintenance of the A- L report and supporting business processes to ensure sound management of the A-L position.
• Design and implement controls around this report that meet business and audit requirements.
• Perform an analysis of the Assets under Management (AUM) and Net Client Cash Flows (NCCF), Growth for the Asset minus liabilities report.
• Produce the A-L for the Finance Review Committee (FRC) on quarterly basis.
• Keep abreast of the methodology used in product fund accounting on the allocation of interest on fixed bonds and the related tax expense.
• Ensure product fund accounts team delivers on all required outputs (journals, extracts, reports and recons) for Product Fund Accounting purposes
• Responsible for SAM reporting submissions to the central finance team and to the FSCA
• Responsible for financial control design and assessments on the Data Control Tool (DCT).
• Liaise with auditors & internal governance team for control reviews.


Skills, Qualification and Experience

• Qualified Chartered Accountant 1-3 years’ post articles experience
• Experience in Oracle Financials an advantage.
• Very strong Excel knowledge.
• Strong information monitoring skills
