Job Specification

ALTHOUGH NOT LIMITED TO, THE INCUMBENT WILL REPORT TO THE SUPERVISOR: OPUG AND THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
§ Maintain mechanical equipment in relevant section / department§ Overhauling of pumps, gearboxes; alignment of pulleys and couplings, precision installations of components – Jaw crusher / Conveyor Belt./ Mudpump/apron feeders/ Rock breakers, Winders, Chutes, Pressure Reducing Valves
§ Identify possible defects or problems proactively and suggest corrective action
§ Ensure that minor defects are repaired on site, major defects are reported and equipment is repaired
§ Compile work priority list and resource requirements
§ Accurate shift and work order reports and communicate resource requirements§ Complete safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports
§ Allocated work orders sign-off, job cards and description of work and spares used,
§ Role administration requirements completed and communicated, planned maintenance schedules and ad hoc reports
§ Maintain relations with internal customers to ensure departmental needs are met and colleagues are satisfied
§ Provide relevant and specialised technical support to applicable stakeholders
§ Enhance safety awareness throughout working area
§ Ensure working area and equipment is clean and safe at all times and in good working condition
§ Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures
§ PPE is worn during shift and safety rules and regulations adhered to
§ Declaration of safe working place
§ Oversee housekeeping principles are adhered to
