Requirements for the position
• Trade Tested Millwright or equivalent
• 10 years min actual people management experience
• Practical maintenance experience in an operational production facility.
• Practical post – qualification experience of at least 10 (ten) years preferred.
• Specific knowledge and experience in the repair/replacement of the following;
• Bearings, Conveyors, Water pumps, Mechanical drives
• Must have basic knowledge on Mechanical and Electrical production machines
• Valid SA ID Book
• Live in Cape Town or surrounding
• Stable track record
• Assertive
• Proven Management experience with in a manufacuturing environment.

Duties:
• Manage the Fitters department.
• Manage the work quality of the Fitters
• On going training and development
• Implement easy systems to assist with management of department
• Liaise with the Fitter Team Leaders on job progress and work requirements when necessary
• Issue direct and clear instructions to Team Leaders and Fitter teams
• Manage Fitter team discipline, time keeping and attendance
• Liaise with Human Resources department in respect of any staff related issues that do arise
• Liaise with Engineering Team and Production Divisions, regarding job priorities and breakdowns
• Practise and apply practical Health and Safety practices
• Preventative Maintenance Practice – maintain systems
• Planning of routine jobs, unscheduled breakdowns, staff utilisation
