Job Title: Fitter (winders)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will be responsible to investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repairs on equipment/machinery in accordance with sound engineering practices and equipment specifications.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Perform inspections in accordance with Mine Health and Safety Act and OEM specifications
Ensure that all equipment complies with legislation and to mine standards
Report defects and breakdowns to foreman
Repair equipment and machinery according to maintenance standard
Communicate with clients and supervisors to inform on maintenance activities and equipment availability
Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedure
Develop, improve, construct and install related equipment to ensure safe operation
Maintain and create job cards for unscheduled maintenance
Supervise Engineering Aides

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12/N3
Qualified Fitter with Trade Test Certificate at recognized /accredited institution
Valid drivers’ license (EB)
3-4 years’ post apprenticeship experience
2 years’ experience in the Winder section - essential

Independent, proactive thinker and have the ability to do own job planning
Knowledge of relevant legislation
Good written and verbal communication skills in English
Knowledge of relevant legislation

Preference will be given to suitable candidates from the designated groups in line with the Company’s Employment Equity Policy and Plan and internal candidates.
