Our client in an Engineering sector based in Krugersdrop has a vacancy for Fitter

Key Functional Area:
Drifter Repair Shop
Performance Specification Output:
Repairs to drifter and rock drilling equipment (and associated or affiliated mechanical products).
•Daily receipt and delivery of scheduled workload as prescribed by management.
•Ensuring correct administrative processes are followed in accordance with TQM.
•Facilitating stripping and quoting of equipment.
•Assisting with estimating and quality assurance checks.
•Rebuild and test equipment according to process and sign off QA test certificates.
•Minimizing risk of the organisation from warranty claims through correct diagnosis of repair and replacement components.
•Arranging for outsourced work through buying and production departments.
•Achieving production targets for number of units correctly repaired within time frames.
•Assist Workshop Manager to train learners, apprentices and fitter hands with a view to increasing productivity and furthering their training.
•Adhere to OHS policy and procedures
•Carry out maintenance on equipment and machinery as instructed.

Skills/Knowledge Specifications
•Recognized Trade Certificate as a Fitter, (hydraulic fitter or other suitable mechanical metalworking trade.
•5 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering facility
•Ability to weld, grind and operate conventional tool room equipment
•Numeracy, measuring, and ability to read technical drawings and sketches
•Ability to read, write and converse with comprehension.
•Knowledge of Mathematics concepts relevant to engineering.
•Use of active listening skills
•Critical thinking skills

•Trouble shooting and problem solving skills
•Ability to instruct apprentices in a guiding and positive manner
