Our client in the textile industry is looking to employ a trade tested Fitter.

Minimum requirements:

• Trade Tested Artisan (Fitter) or equivalent from a recognised education authority, or
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Good attendance and disciplinary record.
• Experience in maintenance of pumps and compressors.
• Experience in pipe fitting, pipe installations and practice.
• Experience in welding (gas and arc).
• Three (3) years’ experience in General Maintenance in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.

Duties:

• Attend to breakdowns on utilities plant (air conditioning, compressed air, water supplies).
• Perform safety checks & condition audits on fire equipment, sub-stations and utilities.
• Make repairs and installations to plumbing facilities, excluding drains.
• General welding and piping system installation.
• Perform general repairs and maintenance on machinery.
• Contribute to reduced operating expenses by way of good work practices, acceptable work rates, minimised recalls, waste and scrap.
• Adhere to departmental Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
• Maintain good Housekeeping Standards as per Departmental SPI’s.
• Provide administration and record keeping as required.

Salary between R14059 & R21079 depending on experience
