Job Title: Fixed Term Contract Shiftboss
Location: Kimberly

Job Description:

Monitor and control the production process by allocating and managing resources (people and equipment) to attain production targets.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Control and lead team effectively and manage time and attendance.
Ensure compliance to the Mine Health and Safety Act and Regulation 29 of 1996 as well as adherence to the relevant Mine COP’s, procedures and standards.
Inspect, monitor and manage the work performed by respective teams.
Ensure effective communication between the various levels and sections on the Mine.
Keep written record of daily activities and conditions reported to Mine Overseer.
Ensure full compliance to the applicable legislation and business plan outcomes.
Ensure that production targets are achieved.
Perform cleaning operations and construction work as required.
Manage personnel, contractors and resources.
Develop personnel in the section through effective training.
Be prepared to work shifts, do standby and work overtime as required.

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 10 / Grade 12 an advantage
National Certificate Generic Management Level 3
Blasting / Hard Rock Breaker Level 3 Ticket for Scheduled Mines
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Shift Boss
Computer Literate - MS Office
Valid driver’s license
Completion of a Supervisory Development Programme – an advantage

Other Skills/Competencies:

Proven track record of supervising and managing people
Good verbal and written communication skills
Be independent, proactive thinker and have the ability to do own job planning and make decisions

Preference will be given to suitable candidates from the designated groups in line with the Company’s Employment Equity Policy and Plan and internal candidates.
