JOB PURPOSE:
The TSO is responsible for the Incident Response Unit (IRU) and the crew consisting of two flagmen and a BLS medic as well as all equipment and documentation of the vehicle. To respond to incidents in the required time frame, to provide on scene safety, keep in constant communication with the TMC, cooperate and assist other services on scene, collect all relevant information on scene and complete the required documentations, super-vise and oversee the IRU crew.

Education/Qualifications and Experience:

? PDP (Professional Driving Permit)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

? Take responsibility of incident scenes in cooperation with other services, and hold overall responsibility for the IRU vehicle and crew.
? Hold responsibility for all on-scene inter-agency co-ordination between TMC and Traffic police, SAPS, emergency medical services etc.
? Complete all relevant documentation (incident/accident forms, vehicle inspection sheets, etc.).
? Capture photographs of incidents, documenting damage to road furniture, vehicles, property etc.
? Hold responsibility for set-up and maintenance of any traffic accommodation.
? Flagman duties as and when required.
? Ensure that vehicle and all equipment and documentation is in good condition.
? Report any damages or shortages to the relevant Area Manager.

These duties may be reviewed, added to, or taken away, based on legal or business requirements to ensure overall efficiency of TETI business and operational requirements. Any deviation from the above may result in the necessary performance management steps to be taken against the individual
