FOH Duty Manager, Rosebank

 

Salary:                                  R8 000 per month

Area:                                     Rosebank – Western Cape Province

 

Description of Position:

 

This small and privately owned Boutique Hotel catering for inbound tourists, foreign business, local & international corporate clients and guests who expect the highest level of customer care and service.

 

Conferencing forms an integral part of the hotel and caters for clientele who require intimate, private and personalised meetings or conferencing venues coupled with personalised hospitality.  The values of the business are based on providing highly personalised services at the guest’s convenience. All staff and management will therefore have to be prepared to work under these conditions.

 

Qualification and Experience:

National or International Hotel School or Hospitality Qualification

1 – 4 Years experience in FOH Management or Duty Management

 

Your working hours

Day Shift from 06H00 – 15H30

Evening Shift from 15H00 – 23H30

Off days:  Once day per week and two days every 2nd week.

 

Job Requirements:

As a duty manager you will be obliged to service all disciplines within the Hotel as requested by the owner which includes the management and control of the following:

Staff members

Room service

Housekeeping

Laundry/ironing

Ground maintenance

General washing and cleaning, carrying , swimming pool cleaning, serving of guests, carrying and fetching

The above applies to all buildings and outbuildings on the premises.

 

Detailed description of your responsibilities:

Management of staff members ensuring that their duties are carried out as per their contracts and job description.

Ensuring that the hotel, grounds and outbuildings are clean, neat and highly maintained at all times.

Suites to be checked and approved before guest arrival.

Guest check ins and check outs.

Assisting with guest queries and demands.

Assuring that guests are satisfied with the service of the hotel.

Assisting with late guest arrivals when necessary.

Reception/office and common areas.

Assisting in the serving and preparing of breakfasts, conference lunches and dinner functions.

Welcoming guests on arrival to the hotel and farewell on departure.

Help with meal preparation and serve meals and refreshments following employer's instructions

Processing reservations by telephone, email or on-line.

Replying to guest enquiries. Arranging tours, transport, functions as requested by guests.

Assuring guests of the highest level of service excellence and warm hospitality.

Laundry control (guest and in-house laundry). Monthly Stock take of amenities, linen, crockery, pantry etc.

Train new personnel in all duties when requested.

Request repair services and notify owner accordingly.

Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property.

Ensure proper preparation of rooms for meetings, and arrange decor, media equipment, and furniture for social or business functions.
Answer telephones and doorbells using the correct methods.

Preparing of quotations, invoices, work / purchase orders – with final approval of owner.
