I am now seeking an experienced, service-oriented and quality-conscious Food & Beverage Manager to lead the food and beverage operations at this small country hotel in the Natal MidlandsPOSITION DESCRIPTIONFood & Beverage ManagerPOSITION PURPOSE:The Food and Beverage Manager will supervise all food and beverage operations in order to ensure that the highest quality standards are met for food, service, safety and cleanliness, while maintaining adherence to budgeted payroll and overhead cost. The Food and Beverage Manager provides professional leadership, training and direction to all Food and Beverage personnel.Major Responsibilities:Develop and implement a budget and operations plan for the hotel food and beverage department through business marketing plans, forecasts and objectives to fully achieve operational and financial goals.Develop Standard Operating Procedures for all hotel food and beverage operationsEnsure all employees assigned to food and beverage departments are trained and supervised to adhere to all local, state and federal safety and sanitation regulationsAssure all company food and beverage areas achieve and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation and serviceWork closely with the General Manager to develop and implement an annual marketing plan that supports projected budget goals for food and beverage.Develop and implement menus, package deals, promotions, displays, decorations and presentations that achieve all sales and financial goals and objectives to improve guest satisfactionEnsure the proper recruitment, development and management of all F & B employeesHandle all guest complaints in the food and beverage areaPerforms other job related duties as requiredRequired Knowledge and Skills:Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices in hospitality food and beverage profession to include management of people and food and beverage operationsMinimum of two years food and beverage experience in a management levelMust have excellent oral and written communication skillsTrack record of leading team to achieve goals and inspires and motivates team members to work together and achieve maximum guest satisfactionMust have excellent organization, interpersonal and proficient computer skills The successful candidate should have an enquiring mind, be methodical, pay attention to detail, be creative, show perseverance and patience, ability to work under pressure, ability to accept routine and mundane tasks, have high energy level, be flexible, have the ability to overcome obstacles and persist with the task at hand, be decisive and adaptable.
