FMCG – FOOD QUALITY MANAGER
Market related cost to company salary package
Stellenbosch, Cape Town (Northern / Winelands Suburbs)

We are currently recruiting for a qualified and experienced Quality Manager with specific experience in the Food Manufacturing / Production industry (FMCG). Our client is a major leader in their field with multiple manufacturing plants in South Africa as well as Africa.

The purpose of this role will be to:
•Effectively and efficiently support the plant quality teams, aligned with company processes and procedures, to improve quality over different KPI’s.
•Support on Industrial projects, Processes, Improvement activities, as well as Improvement processes, and deliver an excellent support service through effective cross functional KPI’s.
•Hygiene and Cleaning Improvement through focused validations of CIP, alignment with company practices, and supporting Quality, industrial and Maintenance teams with leadership and guidance.
•Support on the critical aspects, leading quality and industrial teams, with focus on PRP practices.
•Support the SQMS program, for the company in South Africa and Africa.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Degree Qualification in either Food Science, BTech or B.Sc
• Minimum 5 to 10 (ideal) years FMCG experience.
• Must have extensive experience in Food Production / Manufacturing quality environment.
• Experience in auditing Suppliers and Knowledge of a Supplier system.
• Knowledge in Microbiology, Analytics, Supplier Management.
• Management exp. - Strong people management experience through building a positive and motivated staff compliment.
• Strong experience / skilled in cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholder (internal and external).
• Continuous Improvement mind-set with a focus problem solving and analytical thinking.
• Ability to travel regularly (visit plants in SA regularly)

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer & Consumer:
•Build and maintain sustainable relationships with FSI, DC and Sales, and focus with clear actions, ensure that the company is professionally represented.
•Nurture a mature and motivated staff complement through continuous training and engagement forums, interacting with staff at all organisational levels.
•Analyse operational files, to support in a collaborative manner, business KPI’s.

Projects:
•Support on Industrial projects, and ensure effective planning of the projects with the Quality and Industrial teams to meet the production
outcome within the specified plant parameters.
•Support Processes with Control Plans, supported by the guide control plans, written to support the plant flow, equipment and capability. The nature of the role is a balance between tactical quality management activities and hands–on operational control and line evaluation.
•A key “get-right” will involve the improvement of the demand analytics capability of the company in order to improve their forecasting performance through, amongst other, demand sensing. Within a high performance culture, the individual must have a strong ownership approach together with the ability to drive change through influencing and persuading, supported by previous hands on experience and depth of knowledge within a FMCG environment.

PRP’s:
•Improvement through focused validations of CIP, alignment with the practices with leadership and guidance.
•Supporting Quality, Industrial and Maintenance teams with clear and defined guidance, using a manual built off the procedures.
•A key “get-right”, supported by previous hands on experience and depth of knowledge within a FMCG environment.

Audits -Support areas:
•Support teams such as FSI, Sales, Distribution, PFS, R&D for example, with technical expertise, to achieve business goals which can include external audits support to all the plants.
•Support the SQMS program, supporting the SQMS lead, doing audits based on the company program.


General support is required to support the cross functional teams, assisting the plant to achieve the business goals. This could be consumer, customer, audit support, lead of industrial projects,
