Our client, a market leader in the Fruit Export industry, requires a qualified and experienced Food Safety and Compliance Technologist to join their head office team in Bellville.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist with the implementation of farms and pack house food safety and compliance systems such as Global GAP and BRC
• Coordinate and attend external audits as local company representative when necessary
• Conduct visits/ inspections at all producers and assist with audit preparation to ensure compliance with food safety standards
• Facilitate all 3rd party inspections and/or audits at pack houses effectively when necessary
• Assist with the implementation and monitoring of corrective actions
• Coordinate and assist in the scheduling of food safety and compliance training
• Coordinate and assist in the service of fire equipment, scales, chemical containers, first aid boxes, compressors (H&S) as well as water
testing
• Conduct monthly internal audits according to schedule
• Compile reports for feedback to producers and head office
• Assist producers to ensure that the correct information is submitted to the Quality department for Client information
• Do trend analysis and compile timeously reports on audit feedback
• Ensure that registration forms are completed prior to external audits
• Assist producers to update ethical information on portals
• Assist and monitor producers on the development and implementation of ethical systems such as the monitoring of Worker committees and
Health and Safety meetings
• Assist and guide with implementation of corrective actions

Minimum Requirements:
• A completed Matric with a relevant tertiary Diploma or Degree
• 2 - 3 years’ experience in a Food Safety Environment
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in the Fruit industry (Advantageous)
• Computer literate (Excel advanced; MS office)
• Willingness to travel as well as a valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of Global GAP and Health and Safety (Advantageous)
• Excellent knowledge of Food Safety and Fruit Quality
• Highly accurate and attentive to detail
• Good communication and administrative skills

Salary on offer: TCTC of R 20 000 – R 25 000 p/m (Depending on experience)
