Food Safety & Quality Assurance Officer Killarney Gardens Milnerton Cape Town

Our Client a Food FMCG Manufacturer in Killarney Gardens is looking to fill a food safety and quality assurance position. The successful person needs to have 2-3 years prior experience in the same arena.

Salary is up to R 15000 – Its more a Junior- Intermediate position – Normal hours

Min Requirements
• Food technology diploma – not mandatory
• Must have experience with food safety systems and audits (HACCP and or FSSC22000)
• Must have 2-3 years’ experience in similar field and familiar with quality assurance
• Computer literate

Roles and responsibilities:
• Maintain the food safety system (currently HACCP soon to be FSSC22000) of the company in an up to date audit ready state.
• Attend to client’s needs (supplier questionnaires and up to date certifications).
• Draw samples as per sample matrix and send off to external labs for testing.
• Maintain pest control file
• Prepare for annual audits from our certification bodies or retailers.
• Carry out the audit on behalf of the company, close non-conformances and audit findings.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards with staff and factory
• Oversee the daily operational checklists and paperwork
