The incumbent will oversee and manage the rigging functions in the Mill.

Key Performance Areas:
• Provide safe work procedures for lifting equipment and scaffolding
• Provide the necessary resources for the upkeep of the equipment
• Manage scaffolding contractors on site
• Continuously improve safe working procedures
• Eliminate/minimise waste of all resources
• Control tools and equipment and ensure it is in service condition as per DMR 18
• Participate in relevant forums/meetings, to facilitate effective communication
• Facilitate formal corrective action processes, thus ensuring constructive employment relations
• Meet safety targets
• Check compliance to isolation procedures
• Investigate incidents (SHEQ) and identify root causes of non-conformances and correct deviations
• Control protective clothing supply.

Requirements:
• 3 years as qualified Rigger in a heavy industry sector
• Crane knowledge would be advantageous
• Knowledge of all statutory and regulatory requirements and Certified Scaffolding Inspector
• Trade Tested Rigger (Section 13)
• N5 Mechanical
• LMI will be an advantage
• Management Certificate NQF 5 will be an advantage
