Our client in the manufacturing industry is looking to engage the services of a Formulation developer. Ideal candidate must have experience as a Research and Development Technician

Major Duties / Key Responsibilities:

• Develop formulations for the food industry.
• Develop and maintain database of formulations for the following products, but not limited to: Polony, Vienna’s, Ham, Russians, Chicken, Bakery products, etc.
• QC in coming raw materials and final spice blends.
• Compile specification and COA’s on final spice blends developed.
• Scale-up lab formulation to production blends.
• Implement FSSC 22000 in the spice blending plant.
• Work closely with application specialist and sales.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Matric.
• Food Science or Food Technology qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years QC analysis.
• Experience in product development, especially in developing spice blends, matching spice blends and innovating new blends and similar experience in baking and the baking industry.
• Knowledge of spices is an advantage.
