Description: An agri-business that specialises in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears is seeking a Fruit Technologist. The successful candidate will report to the Product Manager and will be required to travel between 4 different operational sites in the Grabouw/Vyeboom area. Key duties will include but is not limited to: interpret and communicate specifications with the packing operations; assist the marketing team to understand the requirements of customers and help with the practical implication thereof on packing plans; implement and monitor the different customer requirements successfully at Packhouses through regular visits and training; receive, interpret and communicate quality feedback from the market place and resolve problems with packhouses and customers; maintain a positive relationship with customers and pack houses.

Key Requirements: Relevant Food/Fruit Technology degree or diploma. Minimum of 3 years work experience in the fruit industry, preferably with apples and pears. Computer literate. Driver’s license and willing to travel.

Additional Requirements: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; accuracy; ability to work in a high pressure environment; ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Remuneration: Market related.
