Full stack developer – (C# with SQL) position available in Cape Town city bowl. Join this team who are building a cutting edge financial technology platform. You will be building industry leading features in a multi-tier system built on SQL Server, Entity Framework and ASP.NET. Rich, responsive UI; MVVM patterns with Kendo components and TypeScript.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
• Team-based software development; liaising with a BA and team lead
• Development on new and existing business systems that support Retail Financial Services (line of business and public-facing systems)
• Ability to track and categorize competing priorities
• Data analysis and rapid problem diagnosis
• Technical documentation and succinct issue tracking in Jira / Confluence
• Collaborating effectively with a mature Design and Marketing team
• Software Microsoft stack - MS SQL, C#, MVC 5.0 with Razor, HTML; Entity Framework, Matlab,
• T4, LESS, TypeScript, client-side MVVM
• Unit testing
DUTIES AND DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Effectively collaborate with business, analysts and marketing teams
• Excellent written communication and documenting skills
• Ability to track and categorize competing priorities, and optimize accordingly
• Data analysis and rapid problem diagnosis
• Ad-hoc application support
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Experience working in a financial systems environment is beneficial
• Bachelor’s Degree related to engineering or computer science preferred
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• Proficient in object-oriented programming with C#, WCF
• ASP.NET MVC 5.0 with Razor
• Mature CSS and HTML skills; responsive UI’s
• Mature JavaScript and jQuery skills
• Familiarity with TypeScript, Knockout, Bootstrap and Kendo UI beneficial
• WCF, XHR, JSON, REST, Entity Framework
• Knowledge of client-side MVVM pattern in JavaScript
• Good T-SQL
