FUND SETUP TEAM MANAGER

Our client – an outstanding global player and industry leader in the investment arena – has a fantastic Cape Town based opportunity for a Fund Setup Manager who has experience in a similar role.

The ideal candidate will manage the Fund Setup Team to ensure that all deliverables are produced and dispatched on time in accordance with the client service level agreements and agreed quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fund Set Up Responsibilities

Plan and manage all aspects related to the team deliverables, including:
• New fund or share class/series set up
• Market openings
• Changes to fund names, beneficiaries, share class/series
• Fund Closures

Management of Service Deliverables

• Ensure all deadlines are adhered to whilst strictly adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
• Achieve a detailed understanding of task and functions
• Contribute to project work and drive management reporting
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship (network) with all other internal groups/stakeholders

Lead, Manage and Motivate Staff

• Annual goal setting, performance appraisals and coaching/mentoring of team members
• Implement training and development activities/programmes as well as succession planning
• Assist in recruitment of new staff

REQUIREMENTS:

• BCOM or BCOM (honours)
• Experience (5 years) of working in financial services environment – preferably within a custody services/support type function.
• Exposure to fund accounting/administration would also be beneficial
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory or managerial experience

The ideal candidate would be a mature individual with a good amount of work experience within the financial services industry behind them. They should possess strong communication skills (verbal and written), they must be able to cope with the pressures that come with working in a deadline driven environment (well developed time management skills) and must have an eye for detail.
