We are looking for an experience General Counsel who can head up the Legal team for a financial services company. This position is just below the Executive Committee and the incumbent will be required to attend the EXCO and board meetings.

This position has the following Heads of department reporting in – Head of Compliance, Legal Adviser, Head of Economic Crime, Company Secretary and should be able to bring them all together.

Role entails:
Drafting and renewing of contracts – such as buying out of UMAs, outsource component of IT, negotiating of deals.
Person will be required to be hands on and involved in all the various aspects
Deal with Company Secretariat and compliance, economic crime run independently but this person is the sounding board for this role.
Needs good EQ – very challenging,
Needs to be able to push back without stepping on peoples toes, needs to be able to influence the team and win them over.

Minimum Requirements:
Legal degree, needs to be an admitted Attorney.
Stable working record
Financial services experience - highly preferred
African female
