In reporting to the Engineering Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to lead a team and oversee the maintenance operations in a surface coal mining plant, to ensure effectiveness and optimal availability of machinery and equipment.

Job Description:

Oversee the maintenance operation in the surface plant to ensure optimal availability of machines and equipment
Manage the maintenance artisans effectively in a coal crushing, screening and beneficiation plant
Controlling and management of spares and equipment
Production driven and planned maintenance orientated
Controlling costs and budgets
Effectively communicate with the Foremen, Logistic Manager and Engineer
Ensure health and safety standards, codes of practices and safe operation procedures are developed, maintained and enforced
Have a strong work ethic with the ability to work overtime and call-outs when needed

Minimum Requirements:

Qualified Artisan with relevant Trade Test Certificate
5 years experience as a maintenance artisan
5 years experience within a supervisory capacity within the engineering field
Coal crushing, screening and washing plant experience is essential
Plant and overland Conveyors experience is essential
Manage oneself, with a strong work ethic and little supervision in a multicultural team
Good management, organising and prioritizing skills
Must have a drivers licence with own transport
Good English communication skills and one other official language
