General Manager - FMCG (Ethiopia)

They require a commercial and resilient individual who can act as an entrepreneur within a larger structure. You will be tasked with building and inspiring high-performing teams of unique individuals who deliver positive experiences for customers as they shop and get support. You will report directly to the CEO.

Key Qualifications
• Degree in Engineering, Business / Entrepreneurship or Management
• MBA would be an advantage
• Proven ability to drive amazing customer experiences - and results - through team development.
• Experience with diplomatically managing multiple commitments to customers, staff, and operations.
• Ability to adapt to challenges while remaining calm in a constantly changing retail environment.

Description
As General Manager, you will provide overall leadership to drive achievement of Company objectives through operational efficiency, service offering, and customer service and relationship management.
Reporting to the CEO, the position will oversee production, materials planning, quality assurance, continuous improvement, team-building and supervision, and process optimization in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors.


Additional Requirements
• You have demonstrated leadership ability with at least 5-7 years of experience in the FMCG sector.
• Demonstrated track record of improved bottom line through aggressive cost reduction strategies and margin recovery by establishing and effectively growing manufacturing capabilities and overall production processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing facilities requirements, processes, operations and maintenance and understanding of supply chain operations
• Strong leadership skills with hands-on capability and management style.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Leadership and motivational skills
• Be commercially aware and possess in depth experience of working towards KPIs
• Ability to plan, prioritise and cope under pressure
• Multilingual ability is a plus.
