Staff Connection is currently seeking a strong and experienced General Manager. To produce an annual business plan including financial budget, capital expenditure budget, sales & marketing plan and operational plan encompassing a skills development plan for the Hotel incorporating an associated budget.• To implement, monitor and improve the annual business plan when and where required.Able to provide client and market related intelligence to the Sales and Marketing department by ongoing market segmentation analysis, identifying business trends and maintaining key client relationships.Ensure the YTD profit per budget is achieved by all Departments and for the Hotel overall.Fully responsible for the Hotel’s financial and operational results and long term sustainability.Ensure the hotel’s performance is aligned to the competitive set performance indicatorsCheck, analyse and report on monthly management accounts.Accountable for all company Policies regarding all matters being adhered to.Responsible for all company Policies regarding the audit requirements of: Internal audits, Statutory audits, Procurement audits, Hygiene audits Job, Risk Audits (sections relating to F&B Department), Mystery Guest results and Guest Questionnaire feedback, Human resource audit.To act on the results of the above audits in order to achieve set targets.Ensures that all laws, regulations, licenses and company policies pertaining to the operation of the Hotel are adhered to.Accountable for the maintenance of all standards in the Hotel at all times.Ensures timeously and accurate submission of routine and special reports in terms of company policy and directives issued by company executives.Accountable for implementation, adherence and management of all applicable guest satisfaction mechanisms focusing on ongoing service and product improvement resulting in guest loyalty.Monitor and measure staff productivity in order to control resource planning in alignment with revenue streams.Completes employee appraisals of all heads of department every quarter (Monthly if HOD is within their probation / counselling period).Forms part of Executive Duty Management team and as such will be available to answer guest queries, complaints, ensure operating standards of the Hotel are achieved and be responsible for the Hotel security.Complete Duty manager checklist and White Glove room checklists per shift and communicate their findings and actions taken to hotel management team during morning feedback session, leading by example.Ensures proper records and filing systems are kept within all Departments.Chairs the following committees: Staff performance committee, Health and safety committee, Learner ships and development committee, Any other committee roles as determined, from time to timeChairs the following daily meetings: Morning briefing, Management meeting, Pricing meeting, Chairs the following (bi) weekly meetings:Bi Weekly HOD meetings, Weekly Operations meeting, BOD meeting (Banqueting, O-status (Zero Status), Debtors)Chairs the following monthly meetings: Health and Safety meeting, Sales and Marketing meeting (attendance), Staff Merit Award ceremony, Internal financial review – month endPerforms additional duties as required or as requested by company executives.Liaises with:• Company Executives• Financial Manager• All Heads of Department• External suppliers and clients• Owning Company executives as requiredJob RequirementsQualification (Minimum) Essential DesirableGrade 12 Tertiary Qualification in HospitalityManagementExperience (Minimum) YearsBroad-based hospitality experience 10 yearsManagement experience at various HOD levels - 5 yearsKnowledge Importance ProficiencySenior Management Micros Fidelio (General knowledge) Opera, with reference to all modules Skills Importance ProficiencyInterpersonal Communication (written and verbal)Analytical thinkingTime management Problem solvingDecision-making Innovative Team work Attention to detailShould you not receive a response within 2 weeks, please assume your application unsuccessful.
