A senior, General Manager position is available at a Johannesburg-based entity, part of a JSE listed group. The role requires the expertise of a well-seasoned GM to walk in and hit the ground running. I am looking for a relationship-builder, a strong leader and exceptional business grower. Your main focus would be to expand market-share and reach KPAs within a very competitive, but rewarding market, and therefore, I will be looking at CVs of candidates that can display previous evidence of having taken a business and growing it. Included in this juicy role, is the matter of managing a number of direct as well as many indirect reports, forming relationships with various entities and major role players in the industry, performing regular site visits in order to maintain a hands-on approach to the business, running MANCO meetings on a weekly basis and reporting to the COO on a monthly basis. You will also have the responsibility of ensuring the business is aligned with strategy, compliance, legislative rules and regulations and keeping an eye on all HR of the business. This position asks a lot, but it gives a lot, too: you will be looked after in terms of incentives based on performance, benefits and a healthy, secure working environment where growth is possible within the group.
