To develop alternate, more effective ways and means of optimising mineral resources
Responsible for updating geological and resource models for the mines
Compliance with the relevant legal requirements of the Mine Health and Safety Act (Section 29 of 1996); Mineral & Petroleum
Resources Development Act (2002); Mine’s Code of Practice, procedures and standards
Contribute to the Company’s achievement of targets by supplying management with efficient, effective and accurate geology
services
Train and develop staff and succession planning
Management of ore reserve and resource
Implement latest technical methods and equipment to improve MRM function
Liaise with DMR, DWF and other local and government authorities as required
Advise management on MRM issues
Planning layouts
Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence and compliance to security and Company SHE objectives

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or equivalent. Honours degree would be advantageous.
Management Development Programme
Minimum of 4 years Supervisory experience in Underground Geological Mining Operation
At least 8 years Mining/Mineral Resource experience, of which 3 years should be at a senior level in diamond mining
5 years’ experience in mining and geology systems
Valid Code (EB) drivers’ license
Excel Advanced

Other Skills / Competencies:
Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
MicroStation & Volumetric software; Microsoft office (Excel ,Word and PowerPoint); Geological Modelling software (e.g.
Gemcom); Report writing
