JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Support the geotechnical plant manager in maintaining all geotechnical equipment in the workshop and on sites to ensure plant availability for all sites to carry out customer expectation as per the requirements of the projects

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
• Perform maintenance and repairs of geotechnical plant.
• Attending to breakdowns on various sites.
• Attending to rig commissioning and de-commissioning on various sites.
• Evaluation and implementation of service schedules on site and in the workshop.
• Ordering of spares.
• Performing accurate and up to date administration on workmanship and also quality control.
• Travelling to sites to repair geotechnical plant as and when required by geotechnical plant manager.
• Responsible for SHE related to maintenance of geotechnical plant, including housekeeping.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum Matric or Equivalent.
• Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Trade Test.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Preference will be given to those with experience and training conducted with international suppliers of geotechnical equipment.(Soilmec, Casagrande and Bauer)

EXPERIENCE:
• At minimum 3 years’ experience in geotechnical related plant.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Technical understanding and competence in the construction disciplines of Geotechnical trades.
• Specific geotechnical plant knowledge in the following areas.
o Hydraulics
o Electronics
o Mechanical
o Instrumentation.
• Highly skilled in handling tools and maintenance of plant.
• Must be physically fit to work on site and pass site medical requirements.
• Must be willing to work Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays (as and when required).
• Must be willing to travel.
