Position Summary

Consults with key stakeholders to identify development requirements for business areas. Designs, develops, and delivers operational learning solutions aligned to business objectives. Develops and maintains learning material, shares knowledge and encourages personal and professional development. Provides written documentation supporting proposals, recommendations and research findings. Maintains and updates the Client’s Manuals. Completes special projects as required. This role may require travel and working away from your specified site.

Duties and Responsibilities

1) Learning Needs Analysis / Workplace Skills Plan: Identifies and analyses development needs to meet strategic business objectives

2) Learning Delivery & Administration: Prepares materials and administrative documents pre and post learning activity to record learning event, attendees, assessment and evaluation results

3) Design of operational learning materials: Develop and review materials after completion of the training and update as required. Works with the Operational Team to update and review materials for ongoing operational projects

4) Evaluation / Continuous Improvement: Works with Quality Assurance to provide enhanced development services and assist in the evaluation of programmes & solutions

5) Other:
• Undertakes line manager responsibility for new staff throughout Induction Training programmes
• Consolidate input from performance appraisal forms into the employee PDPs
• Produces effective written and statistical reports for internal and Client use
• Maintains a positive, customer orientated attitude when interacting with internal Client’s departments
• Shares knowledge of latest learning theories
• Act as an ambassador for learning and encourages people to develop
• Makes recommendations for the improvement of all Client’s learning solutions and working practices in-line with continual improvement objectives
• Maintains and updates the Client’s Manuals
• Able to demonstrate team work
• Demonstrate dependability by completing assignments and meeting commitments
• Works on special projects as required
• Provide a consultancy service to other Client’s departments in regard to both existing and new business
• Ensure processes, procedures, records, etc. are followed / completed in accordance with the requirements

Requirements

• SA citizen, permanent residence or a valid work permit for South Africa
• Fluent in English and German

Education and Experience

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Communicates both verbally and in written correspondence to an above average standard
• 2-3 years’ experience in developing and delivering training courses, preferably in a service industry
• Recognised training qualification beneficial. Should the successful incumbent not at least have the Facilitator, Moderator & Assessor’s qualification?
• Coaching qualification beneficial

Skills

• Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision
• Ability to supervise delegates throughout training programmes relating to both operational and HR Policy and Procedures
• Ability to work with various organizational levels to develop and present materials
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive and professional written documentation e.g. reports, learning materials
• The Learning Consultant must be able to interact effectively with all delegates, operational team members and internal departments; representing our Client in a professional manner to clients and customers
• Ability to influence and motivate others
• Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects
• Possess effective coaching and leadership skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to think creatively and adopt a 'can do' approach to problem solving
