POSITION OVERVIEW:
Lead the profitable growth of the brands Golf Ball Product lines in South Africa, establishing the brand as the #1 Ball in the country. Areas of responsibility include brand management advertising, consumer engagement, promotion, merchandising, market analysis, sales reporting / analysis and media relations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Marketing Degree or equivalent would be advantageous.
- Ideally 5+ years of marketing experience in the areas of marketing, brand or product management.
- Ability to travel domestically and globally when required.
- Previous experience working in golf or sporting goods.
- Golfer at a good standard is highly desirable.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
- Work closely with the Brand Director and UK Region Golf Ball Manager on the development, execution and evaluation of the Golf Ball Product and Brand strategy for the South African market.
- Manage and develop the Product Specialist Team with the SA Fitting Manager to deliver best in class education, fitting, merchandising and golfer connection activities with true golf ball focus.
- Collaborate with South African Sales Teams to ensure On and Off course sales excellence and implementation of golf ball sales programmes, merchandising, promotion and trade education.
- Manage Golf Ball marketing planning, budgets, concentrating on a consumer connection strategy via the brands own channels, online, TV, golf media, customer and 3rd party solutions.
- Co-ordinate and present Golf Ball corporate / logo strategy and sales implementation.
- Manage all Golf Ball reporting, data analysis, consumer insights, surveys and regular channels of communication.
- Ownership of the South African Pyramid of Influence strategy to ensure that the Golf Ball strategy is strong through every level of the pyramid and not exclusively at the peak of the professional game.
- Develop an annual promotional and merchandising plan according to sound knowledge and understanding of the market and consumer needs.
- Drive profitability and sales in the SA market through strategic planning and best in class execution of sell-in and sell-through activities.
- Drive golf ball merchandising & trade education excellence within the SA region, via execution of online tools to retail partners as well as the sales & product specialist teams.
