Purpose of the Job:

To provide a holistic education for learners through full participation in spiritual, academic, sporting, creative and cultural activities.
Main Functions:

Carry out full duties and responsibilities of a Register Class Teacher
Curriculum planning
Teachers’ lesson planning
Meeting parents regarding curriculum and students’ progress
Organise the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment
Plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class
Maintain discipline
Prepare and mark work to facilitate positive pupil development
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development
Provide feedback to parents and carers on a pupil's progress at parents' evenings and other meetings
Work with others to plan and coordinate work
Remain up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Organise and take part in school events, outings and activities which may take place

Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Teacher in Afrikaans
Relevant Intersen Qualification
Preparatory school teaching experience
Experience in teaching a range of academic subjects in Grade 6 or the Intersen Phase (as an advantage)
Must be SACE Registered
Experience and understanding in teaching in an IEB school would be advantageous
