RS Recruitment Services is assisting a large company in the FMCG INDUSTRY to recruit a GRAPHIC DESIGNER
for their branch in WESTMEAD, DURBAN.

Purpose of the position: The individual will prepare visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts for local and international markets.

Applicants should have/be able to do the following:
Matric
2 to 3 years of relevant practical professional experience
Relevant degree/diploma level of Education – would be an advantage
Excellent communication skills/written English.
Graphic Design Skills, Layout Skills, Creative Services, Customer Focus.
Creativity, Flexibility, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented, Desktop Publishing Tools.

Duties:
• Manage packaging artworks and image library.
• Plans concept by studying information and materials.
• Contributes ideas and design artwork to the overall brief
• Uses innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time
• Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
• Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval.
• Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment; purchasing from vendors.
• Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
• Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work
• Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc.
• Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies. Keeps abreast of emerging technologies in new media (particularly design programs)
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Ad hoc assistance at events – includes designing and setting up stand, promoting, cooking etc.
• Print design and mock up – includes print ads, promotional items, packaging, cookbooks etc.
• Digital design – includes graphics for website, social media pages, YouTube
• Photography and videography of any company events such as promotions, cooking demo’s,
• in house functions, etc.
• Signing off every new print run of a certain package or packaging element (includes proofing colours,
• fonts etc.)
• Design programs: improve knowledge of the different tools in all relevant Adobe programs through the use of online tutorials and tutorials offered through Creative cloud

Remuneration:
R10 000 to 15 000 ctc, depending on experience. Includes large company benefits.
