Duties:
Producing creative conceptual designs and solutions to communicate messages/ideas that inspire, inform and captivate clients but is still conducive to the University’s brand;
Taking creative initiative and bringing the design to life across multiple touch points;
Fashion trend forecasting and market research to design/create a product line relevant to the target audience and aligned to the University’s brand identity;
Executing all visual design stages from concept to final design;
Establishing and promoting design guidelines, best practices and standards;
Identifying and implementing design solutions in collaboration with SU’s Brand and CI Department;
Considering the information to create designs for internal clients;
Ensuring that the graphic design is sent in the correct format with all relevant information to suppliers and/or fashion buyers;
Managing multiple projects with critical deadlines;
Presenting and providing rationales for design;
Creating mock-ups for stakeholders and suppliers;
Sourcing and liaising with reputable and trustworthy suppliers.
Requirements:
A diploma in Graphic Design or a relevant industry-related qualification;
Minimum three years’ work experience;
Ability to design graphics that consider technical constraints;
Experience and extensive knowledge of enhancing designs in line with corporate brand identity of an organisation, and the application thereof;
Proven skills in converting a design brief into a creative design application;
Technical knowledge and computer literacy, including Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat;
Excellent skills in Adobe Microsoft Suite;
Proven knowledge of production processes – for both printing and clothing ranges;
Strong creative, conceptual and problem-solving skills;
The ability to handle multiple projects at once;
Sound time management skills and the ability to prioritise;
Sound organisational skills;
Excellent work ethic;
Good written and verbal communication skills, including marketing skills;
Ability to understand and define the needs of external and internal clients;
Ability to function effectively in a multilingual and multicultural environment;
Eagerness to learn and update skill base;
Passion for design and keeping up with design trends;
Industry-leading portfolio, showcasing strong relevant work;
Attention to detail;
