A successful specialist Financial Services Group seeks a skilled, dynamic and commercially astute strategic Finance Executive / Group CFO.
As a key member of the Executive Management Team, the successful candidate will report directly to the Group CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the Company. The person in this role will have primary day to day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial related activities for the Company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, billing and collections, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, regulatory compliance, taxes, and forecasting. Additionally, you will be charged with strategically preparing the business for the future from a financial point of view and proactively structuring the business to stay abreast of change
You will need to meet the following requirements:
• At least 5-8 years relevant experience in senior financial management roles
• You will have preferably begun your career in a recognized public accounting firm, and have some audit experience.
• Possess a degree in accounting or finance, and preferably an MBA as well; and be a CA or CFA
• You will have experience within the Insurance industry (non negotiable)
• Demonstrated the ability to set performance metrics and manage the accounting and treasury functions
• Have the business acumen, leadership skills and fortitude sufficient to be an effective strategic partner to the CEO
• Be a creative change agent who can approach traditional challenges with new ideas and can influence co-workers across departmental lines
• Possess strong leadership capabilities complemented by a collaborative approach to business management
The successful candidate will possess the following core competencies:.
• Skilled communicator with strong verbal and written abilities
• Driving results by rigorously maintaining accountability for achieving high levels of individual and organizational performance
• Demonstrating analytical skills by applying logic and sound reasoning to determine the facts, understand cause and effect and demonstrate the necessary savvy to apply good judgment in complex situations
• Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be willing to “roll-up the sleeves”.
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa
Package: In addition to a guaranteed 7 figure CTC, the position also has a generous bonus structure as well as share options.
