Our client in the Umlazi area is recruiting for a Group Chief Financial Officer, to ensure compliance with any and all financial and contract reporting requirements for private and public funding, licensing or regulatory agencies

• Guide the Group and its subsidiaries in making the appropriate choices / decisions that will promote a healthy financial growth and assist them to achieve their strategic goals.
• Promote a culture of good governance and sound fiscal discipline.
• Ensure that the liquidity requirements of the company are diligently managed to enable timeous funding of obligations.
• Ensure that there are robust risk management strategies and policies to mitigate against risks that face the company.
• Develop and prepare annual budgets before start of new fiscal year.
• Participate in company’s annual strategic planning sessions in setting out the strategic objectives for the organisation.
• Ensure proper preparation for annual Group Financial Statement.
• Ensure compliance with any and all financial and contract reporting requirements for private and public funding, licensing or regulatory agencies.
• Furnish necessary and classified information to the Board of Directors along with analysis and suggestions.
• Strengthen and formalise corporate decision making process, i.e. Annual business plans, cash flow projections, forecasts and long term plans.
• Ensure proper maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard assets and promote reliability of financial information.
• Develop, update and enhance the Accounting Systems and other Financial Communication Systems for accurate, timely and efficient reporting.
• Review and update accounting policies regarding various operational areas of the company.
• Ensure effective utilisation of Human Capital and instil a high performance culture for his / her business unit.
• Be a catalyst for change.

• CA plus 5 years experience at Senior Management / Executive level, preferably in a Financial Industry field.
• Knowledge of computerised systems (ERP Systems).
• In depth knowledge and application ability of Finance management and development.
• A proven record of a successful career in Financial Management.
• Business Acumen, i.e. the ability to apply business or commercial thought process approach in decision making, planning and implementation of projects.
• Strategic thinking and planning ability.
• The ability to communicate and operate effectively at all levels.
• Have the ability to work with and through people to achieve results.
• The ability to facilitate a mentorship role.
• Honesty, integrity and good business ethics.
