We are looking for a Production Group Leader for a renowned company in Port Elizabeth.

Purpose of Position:

To lead, manage and prioritize sterile manufacturing, filling and packing operations to achieve operational objectives and continually improve and optimize operations to attain customer service excellence.

Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12
• Production management diploma/degree, Engineering diploma/degree and/or relevant Scientific diploma/degree
• 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
• Relevant Business Management experience within a Sterile Pharmaceutical environment would be an advantage
• Lean manufacturing experience would be an advantage
• Demonstrated Leadership experience in manufacturing environment is essential
• Computer literacy & BAAN knowledge is essential

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that products are produced in accordance with Company’s requirements for sterile production
• Manage and supervise the functioning of the department
• Ensure that effective departmental feedback and communication is developed and maintained
• Ensure that effective departmental visual performance measurement is developed and implemented
• Ensure that a downtime measurement system is implemented and downtime reduction targets are met
• Implement a loss and waste analysis program to improve process and yields
• Ensure that a headcount monitoring system is implemented and that optimum utilization of time and resources is maintained
• Manage departmental financial, SHE, HR and GMP responsibilities and activities
• Plan, lead, allocate and manage departmental activities, resources and tasks in accordance with agreed budgets, service/delivery targets and daily/weekly/monthly plans
• Establish and maintain appropriate systems for operational management and measurement
• Develop and implement continuous improvement plans and actions
• Manage departmental absenteeism effectively
• Set Annual Budgets and Quarterly Forecasts
• Meet output requirements, while containing expenditure
• Meet targets on yields and write offs
• Ensure capital expenditure plans are met
• Ensure control and approval of expenses in accordance with the company approvals framework
• Control all inventory in area of responsibility
• Ensure annual stock stakes meet control requirements
