Key Performance Areas

• The Group Treasury Officer is responsible for corporate liquidity, investments, and risk management related to the group’s financial activities
• Forecast daily cash requirements and execute daily financing decisions
• Update daily cash management schedules to extract excess cash from units to central treasury and /or finance unit cash requirements
• Manage the repayment of / draw-down from ONL/RCF
• Manage group overdraft facilities and cash balances within the parameters stipulated by the CTA
• Continuously assess opportunities to stream-line / automate the daily cash management function
• Management of the Group facilities
• Management of group companies’ loans and deposits with central treasury
• Rolling and/or switching of facilities to save interest leakage, raising fees and commitment fees
• Settlement of interest and instalments on group facilities when due
• Prepare group financial covenant reporting for submission to lenders
• Review banking facilities letters
• Manage issuance, amendments and cancellations of guarantees and maintain group guarantees register
• Assist in raising of additional funding as and when necessary (review agreements, etc.)
• Management of short-term investment strategies
• Assess and recommend investment of excess group cash in call / money market accounts (where required)
• Preparation and submission of the group cash flow forecast
• Monthly Group Treasury reporting
• Calculation and reconciliation of treasury interest due to / from group companies
• Consolidate group interest, cash and debt for Flash reporting
• Manage treasury interest forecasting and budgeting processes
• Management of banking relationships with the local bankers
• Specifically manage all FIC requirements
• Management of credit rating agency relationships where applicable
• Monitor bank service fees and address quality issues
• Ensure compliance with the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) regulations relating to foreign payments and incoming funds
• Assist units with SARB approval applications required to effect forex payments
• Review forex deal confirmations
• Prepare annual SARB update document and manage collection of offshore and gaming information well in advance of meeting
• Ensure compliance with and recommend changes to banking and treasury policies and procedures
• Management of the group hedging process
• Monitor interest rate curves, analyze and recommend potential hedging transactions
• Recommend, implement and maintain Treasury process improvements
• Work very closely with the finance departments on all cash and treasury related processes at the units
• Assist in the standardization of limits and signatory hierarchy across the group

Required Qualifications / Experience
• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
• 5+ years of progressively responsible treasury experience for a major company
• Should have a thorough understanding of derivatives, hedging, investments, bank account management, and international funds flows

Skills
• Knowledge of investment portfolio strategy, banking, and financial instruments.
• General knowledge of IFRS reporting requirements for investments and other financial instruments.
• Knowledge of treasury software expertise
• Advanced analytical, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced spreadsheet and modeling skills.
