Staff Connection is looking for a Guest Relations Officer to join a stunning property in the heart of Sandton. POSITION: GUEST RELATIONS OFFICERSCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSEThe guest relations officer will be responsible for establishing brand and company standards,overseeing and directing all aspects of the guest relations function to achieve the highest possible guest satisfaction to guests whilst promoting the desired work culture around the three core values of People, Product and Profit.REQUIREMENTSStandard 10 / Grade 12.Hotel School Diploma or tertiary qualification in Public Relations considered an advantage.Fluent in English.Fluency in other languages considered an advantage.Good people skills with an aptitude for relating and associating with guests.Good communication skills (verbal and written).Exceptionally well groomed, well spoken and presentable.3 Years experience in a similar position within the Public Relations or hospitality industry.Ability to work under pressure.Display problem solving skills.Ability and willingness to work shifts and unusual hours.Ability to work effectively unsupervised.Ability to multitask, displaying excellent organization skills.Own Transport EssentialComputer Literate – Intermediate MS Office (Microsoft Word & Excel - essential)Fidelio Opera “Front Office and Cashiering functions” an advantageKEY RESULT AREAS (FREQUENT TASKS)Interact with all in-house guests, owners and owners tenants on a continuous and regular basis and record accordingly.Create and maintain a database of preferences, likes and dislikes and complaints of all guests, in order to:Increase guest satisfaction.Identify service and product deficiencies.Maximize return business.Managing of preferred suites and associated events.Facilitate and manage all site inspections with the aim to increase the profile of the product and increase occupancies and revenues.Interact with the sales team to assist with increasing sales by passing on leads and promotional ideas and assisting with marketing initiatives.Organise and participate in guest social activities that anticipate and meet guest needs and interestsFamiliarized with the daily business i.e. group arrivals, return and VIP guests and giftingResponsible for all VIP gifting and welcome lettersMeet, welcome and escort VIP’s on arrivalSelling/promoting all hotel facilities to in-house or prospective guestsYou may be called upon to perform ad-hoc duties, as requested by Management.Should you not receive a response within 2 weeks, please assume your application unsuccessful.
