Delightful luxury 5 star bush lodge located in Northern Zululand is seeking the services of an enthusiastic and energetic Head Chef.
Minimum Requirements:
Formal Professional Cookery qualifications from a reputable establishment
5 years experience in a Senior Sous or Head Chef at 4 / 5 star level in a hotel or lodge environment (luxury lodge preferably)
Cuisine: Fine dining, a la carte, seafood, bush catering & modern cuisine trends = fabulous food
Excellent communication skills as this position also involves interacting with high 5 star guests as well as colleagues
Innovative with a strong eye for detail
Computer literacy to include: Word, Excel, Micros, Outlook
Strong kitchen and staff skills with the ability to train junior staff
Fluent in English and isiZulu
Work under pressure and be goal orientated
Demonstrable knowledge of health and safety
Must have a thorough knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment used in preparing food on a large scale.
Experience planning menus and costing them with emphasis on saving on food costs /reducing wastage
Able to work under pressure and work in a remote bush location.
Physically fit, sober habits and in good health
