Our client outside Worcester, a Conference venue with craft beer brewery and pub is looking for a Head Chef.

They are looking for a creative head chef who is proficient in all aspects of food preparation, to manage and operate the kitchen as part of a team.

Requirements:

Proven working experience as a head chef
Excellent record of kitchen management
Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
Capable of delegating multiple tasks
Communication and leadership skills and team player
Keep up with cooking trends and best practices
Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
Relevant Qualifications
Proficient in at least English & Afrikaans
Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities:

Responsible for all food preparation and serving thereof
Ordering of stock, physical purchasing of stock and stock control (monitoring and rotation of produce)
Weekly stock taking
Menu planning and menu development
Function planning for special events and tastings
Quality control of all food preparation
Implementing and maintaining systems, procedures to ensure efficient running of kitchen
Portioning and controlling wastage
Managing the entire kitchen staff including training were required
Scheduling of daily work for chefs and other kitchen staff
Cost control and maintaining profit margin
All admin related to kitchen operations
General upkeep and maintenance of the kitchen including all equipment
Supervising kitchen hygiene and ensuring the kitchen is up to the Health and Food Safety Standards
Interacting with lodge and restaurant guests on a daily basis

SALARY: R15 000 -R20 000 (3month contract before a permanent employement.
