Location: Namibia
Salary: R15k - R18k per month
(50% contribution to Medical Aid and Provident Fund)
This is a live-in permanent role.

Our client seeks a Head Chef for a live-in role based at their Game Lodge in Namibia.

Requirements:
3 - 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef in a 5 Star Lodge
Relevant Qualifications
Experience in the service industry, especially Kitchen Management
Previous experience in a 5 star operation
Valid Class C driving license
Strong administrative skills
Contactable References
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication
Confidence in dealing with guests, suppliers & staff
Attention to detail
Diligence and self-motivation to meet deadlines
Willingness/ability to share information and teach and inspire others

Duties:
Guests & Trade Partners:
Meet all guests and get to know their likes and dislikes through interaction o Continually strive to produce creative, world class cuisine in accordance with the clients Food BOP
Cater for special requirements and encourage guest delight through varying meal venues and bush functions
Pay attention to detail, adding finishing touches where necessary
Ensure the highest health and hygiene standards are set and adhered to in the kitchen and canteen
People:
Ensure your teams are guest focused
Train all staff members in health and hygiene
Ensure all your staff is skilled to perform in their areas of responsibility
Ensure staff attends training workshops and exchanges
Staff to be well informed on lodge happenings and clients updates at all times
Process:
Have knowledge of products, suppliers, prices and current stock
Ensure that orders are placed in relation to occupancies
Check and rotate stocks in fridges and freezers daily
Ensure month end stock procedures are followed in accordance with the client’s procedures
Ensure the staff canteen follow their menu and issues are done according to the number of staff on site Conduct yourself within the guidelines of the client’s Policies and Procedures
Money:
Manage your food costs
Re-negotiate old agreements
Ensure negotiated prices are honoured
Ensure controls are in place in stores and fridges o Ensure controls are in place in the staff canteen
