Overview: Responsible for overseeing all client accounting and statutory filings and reporting in respect of South African client base.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing and submitting income tax returns for client companies and individuals
Preparing and submitting annual financial statements for client companies
Reviewing and submitting VAT returns for client companies
Assisting client companies and individuals with day-to-day accounting and tax queries
Liaising and overseeing the bookkeeping team responsible for processing client transactions
Managing the bookkeeping team in the Cape Town branch
Assisting Head Office with the preparation of monthly management accounts for the branch
Preparing and submitting annual returns for the branch to local authorities
Acting as the registered tax practitioner for the branch as required by the South African authorities
Liaising with third party tax experts in relation to client queries as required
Assisting client companies with their dealings in respect of payments which are subject to exchange controls

Start date: No later than 1st October 2017

References: 2 required, one of which must be from previous employer

Qualifications: Ideally Chartered Certified Accountant or equivalent

Experience: Would suit newly qualified accountant

Skills: Familiarity with Sage accounting software would be an advantage but not required as training will be given. Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word skills essential.
