Introduction

A world leading supplier of IT Solutions in the Travel and Tourism industry is current seeking a Head for the AMBO Division (Midback Office). The successful candidate would be required to maintain and grow the business to achieve overall shareholder and stakeholder value, thus achieving the business objectives.

Applicants must have experience with New Business Development, sound mid back office technical capability and have comprehensive financial skills across the travel accounting function.

Minimum requirements
• Prior Senior leadership position an essential;
• Strong Business Development skills;
• Knowledge of the Sub-Saharan Africa travel market ;
• Operational and customer knowledge and experience in the E.M.E.A region an added benefit;
• Operational Leadership experience in the Travel agency business and in depth knowledge on the Accounting side;
• Develop commercial proposals and provide ongoing input to the commercial business case and market identification of the product;
• Prior Mid-back office experience an advantage;
• Sound Business Finance skills, proven track record in successfully run businesses; and
• Advanced PC skills.

• Candidates must be flexible in terms of working hours etc. and have an overall positive and pro-active approach to work;
• The role requires the ability to achieve the extraordinary under ordinary or adverse conditions;
• Travel will be required; within the region and abroad; and
• The role is highly visible externally, and as such the successful candidate must represent the Company in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Minimum Education
• University Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience; and
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities
• Position AMBO as the Mid Back office of choice in the market segmentation it operates in;
• Ensure ongoing viability and sustainability of AMBO;
• Strategic planning, communication and active participation in Execution thereof;
• Ensure strategies are clearly and effectively communicated within the team;
• Drive a duty of care culture within the organisation towards its employees thus ensuring clients are serviced and respected in the same fashion;
• Derive and maintain employee satisfaction and welfare;
• Responsible for the remuneration and overall package negotiations for the team;
• Monitoring of all activities within the organisation;
• Responsible for providing feedback to the NIPP Co on progress of AMBO;
• Overall responsibility of delivery of forecasted profits to key shareholders of AMBO;

• Overall compilation of budget requirements;
