Global EPCM looking to the fill the position of Head of Contracts & Legal. Candidate must have been involved in writing successful claims. The candidate will be responsible for the entire legal and contracts management, including all project contractual matters, commercial issues and disputes (DAB and Arbitration) matters.

Minimum Requirements

• Have power plant or oil refinery experience
Job Spec
Responsibility
• General
o Compliance with the Quality and EHS rules from the business, sector and corporate within own area of responsibility.
o Ensure a coordinated approach in all areas with the other communities.
o Ensure leadership and motivation by establishing an open and broad communication of the principles, objectives, targets and processes including the feedback communication.
o Maintain identification of needs, planning, execution and follow-up of appropriate training
• Specific to the Contract Management Function
o The Group Contract Managers are responsible for the on-time, correct and complete delivery of the contract management related project results as defined in the “General
Operating Guidelines” of Thermal Systems by:
? Ensuring that the processes, procedures, and application of tools as defined by the global function responsible are applied
? Identifying the resources needed (employees, skills and consultants)
? Manage the allocated work load

Main Duties
• Ensure that the undertaking of Project Contract Management functions according to the applicable rules, regulations codes, and standards and according to best industry practice.
• Inform and train the Project Contract Managers for the efficient and effective application of Project Contract Management methods applicable to Company business.
• Report to the Head of Contract Management on the key trends and developments within own community.
• Take on further tasks as decided by the Head of Contract Management.

Performance Measurement
• Objectives, targets, and performance measurements are defined on a yearly basis in line with the published business objectives.

Authority
• Independent in decision-making and managing the execution of the allocated work within the framework of set goals and rules.
• Access to all documentation related to relevant projects
• Access to concerned Heads of Project Execution Groups, Project Directors, Project Managers, and Project Planners.
• Contracts with Customers
• Performance of the annual HR cycle
• Administration of personnel related issues

Mechanical Supervisor
Job Summary
Global EPCM invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Mechanical Supervisor for the Kusile Project reporting to the Construction Manager. The project entails the building of 6 x 780 MW Coal Fired Super Critical Boiler for the coal fired Kusile Power Station to be erected at the Kusile Site at Witbank, Mpumulanga, South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and be responsible to assist the construction manager in all erection activities on the Boiler main structure.
• Control man hours allowed for erection, ensure all budgets are met or improve. This includes updating construction schedules and assisting with drawing up of construction schedules.
• Ensure high standards of safety and quality are adhered to.
• Assist the Construction Manager in running the site in a safe manner and within budget and on time.
• Must be able to work unsupervised and lead a team.
• Must report all deviations from the scope of work timously in writing to the construction manager.
Key Requirements
Skills and experience:
• The appointed candid must have at least 10 years experience in he’s field e.g. Mechanical fitting.
• Must have previous experience in this type of position on a similar project.
• Must be able to read erection/construction drawing fluently.
• Must be quality conscious and must have a good understanding of QIP’s and quality procedures.

Senior QC Inspector
Job Summary
Global EPCM invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of SENIOR INSPECTOR for the Kusile Project reporting to the QC Manager. The project entails the building of 6 x 780 MW Coal Fired Super Critical Boiler for the coal fired Kusile Power Station to be erected at the Kusile Site at Witbank, Mpumalanga, South Africa.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Within the limits of the project policies and procedures the Inspection Supervisor has the responsibility and commensurate authority to accomplish the following duties:
• Plan inspections
• Supervise and maintain surveillance over QC Inspectors
• Ensure inspections carried out to I&TP’s and procedures
• Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection results
• Ensure inspection records are maintained
• Perform inspection in accordance with procedures and industry practice
• Be familiar with tools and equipment and proficient in their use
• Ensure condition and calibration status of measuring equipment
• Ensure proper reporting of inspections to defined acceptance criteria
• Ensure timely and progressive compilation of quality dossier/data books
Key Requirements
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
• Five years satisfactory experience in mechanical inspections.
• Two years QC supervisory experience in fabrication / construction of power or petrochemical plants.
• Extensive experience in the installation and quality control of fans, mills, air heaters, pumps, motors, coal feeders, PF piping, burners and conveyors.
• Extensive experience in working to original equipment manufacturers (OEM) installation instructions.
• SAIW Level II Welding Inspector or equivalent.

Education
Qualifications And Skills:
Suitable candidates must possess a combination of the following minimum qualifications and skills:
• Preferably served a trade as a mechanical fitter.
• Self motivation, computer literacy skills, effective interaction abilities, communication skills, problem solving skills, accuracy and methodical work ethics. Ability to work independently, under pressure and focus on detail and procedures.
