Job Purpose:
• Lead and Manage the Graduate School of Business Management to become the foremost Graduate School in Africa and get its programmes not only accredited in SA but also by international professional accrediting Associations
• Ensure that the School/Department achieve the Institute and the faculty strategic goals 2015-2019 and the Vision of the Institute going forward
• Design a suite of academic programmes and business modules for other Faculties including Masters Course base and PhD Programs
• Design executive programmes to capacitate senior and executive leaders and managers

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Doctoral Qualification in Business Administration, Commerce or Business Information Systems or relevant qualification
• At least 5 years' relevant experience, which should include a combination of industry and lecturing experience (relevant leadership and management experience is strongly recommended)
• At least four (4) published articles in accredited journals
• Supervision of postgraduate students at university level

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities:
• Strategically lead and manage the school/department effectively, efficiently and in a suitable manner
• Human Resources management including managing performance of all staff
• Serves as chairperson of Departmental committees including research, teaching and learning and ethics
• Teaching and learning -lecturing subjects in the PQM of the school in accordance with the approved workload policy
• Ensure that the PQM of the department is responsive to the needs of the industry
• Design a doctoral qualifications and ensure its offering soonest its approved by DHET and CHE
• Ensure that the Masters in Course is designed and offered on block release
• Serve as member of the executive of the Faculty as well as other committees such as research, community engagement, teaching and learning committees, etc. of the Faculty and university
• Provide leadership and management of university resources in an ethical manner
• Increase 3rd stream income through executive programmes and research and innovation promotion
• Conduct efficient and effective academic administration in a professional manner
• Participate in Faculty committees and the Institute’s strategic projects
• Initiate and engage in sustainable internationalization programs
• Brand the School internationally
• Ensuring effective Departmental administration in support of the academic project.
• Manage and annually ensure the improvement of research outputs of the School /Department
• Ensure that each staff member published a minim of one article a year
• Publishing articles in accredited journals at least 1 article per year
• Publishing text or academic books
• Increase the number of staff with doctoral degrees
• Increase and retain staff with NRF ratings
• Improve pass rates and throughputs rates of the School/department
• Implement the Institute's Teaching and Learning Strategy as well as Teaching Charter
