Head of Finance/Financial Manager

Our client based in the Vaal Triangle is a Global Supplier in the Steel Industry is has a vacancy for Head of Finance with the following requirements:

Purpose of this role:
To oversee and monitor the day-to-day implementation of financial policies and procedures to ensure the financial health of the company.
This is a hands-on role and the successful incumbent will be required to provide sound financial analysis and accurate reporting to enable executive management and the Board to make sound business decisions

**Reports to the Managing Director

Qualifications & Experience:
• CA (SA) or B Comm. (Honours.)
• Completion of Articles
• Professional registration with SAIPA or SAICA will be an advantage
• At least 10 years progressive experience in a Financial Management role in a Manufacturing environment
• Strong financial analysis, critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Understanding of financial and market trends and patterns, statistics and Accounting principles
• Experience using: SAP Business One and VIP Payroll system will be an advantage
• Working knowledge of statutory and legislative regulations
• Understanding of data privacy and confidentiality standards

Key Performance areas:
• Develop and review financial policies, procedures and controls to ensure the financial management function is aligned with company needs and compliant with relevant legislation
• Manage the preparation and achievement of the company’s budget and forecasts
• Monitor day to day financial operations within the company such as payroll, invoicing, revenue collection and outgoing payments
• Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance versus the budget
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information
• Measure trends and develop projections
• Provide Financial reports and interpretation of financial information to managerial staff and Board members with recommended further courses of action and areas with potential to improve
• Conduct review and evaluations of cost-reduction activities
• Minimise the financial risks to the company
• Maintain financial and data security
• Liaise with auditors and tax practitioners to ensure appropriate monitoring of the organisation’s financial activities and legal and tax compliance
• Ensure the audit and finalisation of financial statements
• Advise on investment activities and strategies and interact with Banking and Investment services
• Oversee implementation and renewal of financial leases
• Oversee procurement of stock, and organisation of freight/transport with suppliers
• Cooperate with other departments to meet financial budgets, goals and objectives
• Oversee and manage staff, Operations, performance, goals and objectives of the Finance Department to ensure performance objectives are achieved
