Head of Human Resources

My client has a vacancy for a Head of Human Resources. This is a senior role in their organisation and will cover the full generalist function on a strategic and operational level and manage a small team of generalists.
Although the role is at a strategic level, the incumbent needs to be hands on and have the ability to implement and operationalise strategy and plans.

Responsibilities:

The role will cover the full generalist function which includes but is not limited to:
Managing the talent management process and talent matrix
Industrial and labour relations including policies and procedures. Broad IR experience is critical up to arbitration level. Must have previously ran a retrenchment process as well as effected transfers
Performance management which includes the bi-annual process for REMCO, KPI development, poor performance and structures
Remuneration and benefits process, must understand payroll and have a basic knowledge of SARS rules
Manage all relevant statutory submissions e.g. employment equity, SETAs, workman's compensation
Managing daily occupational health and safety requirements, training representatives and managing committee
Plan, manage and submit learning and development workplace skills planning and reports for all entities
Manage activities pertaining to employee engagement and change management
Drive culture and values across business
Assist with structure changes and drafting job descriptions for job grading as part of organisational design
General responsibilities around reporting to EXCO, HR auditing, coaching and general communication

Non Negotiable Requirements:

Honours Degree in Human Resources or Behavioural Sciences
10 years of experience in an HR Generalist role with a minimum of 3 years at a senior level and managing a team
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Experience using ERP and HR information management systems
Payroll management and system experience
Strong understanding of LRA and BCEA
