Your key job responsibilities as the Head of IT in Durban will include:
- Drive a customer-centric culture
- Execute their values through daily job functions
- Repair, maintain and provide preventative maintenance on all technologies in the operations environment
- Proactively monitor all platforms, ensuring uptime, performance, and service levels are maintained at all times for all production systems
- Support the coordination with vendors for problem resolution
- Monitor and resolve production performance, server and application related issues to ensure the restoration of the environment
- Build an effective network of IT colleagues to enhance problem solving ability to increase the reliability of the operational environment
- Interact with management to generate new solutions to complex problems
- Acts as a key advisor to project teams on “operations” issues of feasibility
- Ensure that network infrastructure and applications are properly configured
- Achievement of SLA on all IT services to the business
- Identify and implement operational standards and procedures
- Provide recommended resources to management for approval and negotiate with management to assign resources
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to more junior operators. Coordinates activities of the team, i.e. scheduling, shift management and other administrative duties.
- Ensure that the team structure is manned by motivated and empowered staff and lead by sound performance management and transformational leadership practices
Requirements for this Head of IT job in Durban:

- 10+ years IT experience
