We have an exciting career opportunity for a Head of Marketing to join a national retailer at their head office in Durban. Your key job responsibilities as the Head of Marketing in Durban will include:

- Overseeing and coordinating all marketing strategy across brands
- Develop annual marketing plan & budget, across the Group. Oversee marketing plans/budgets & their implementation/execution to ensure all activities are to budget and KPIs
- Ensuring that the marketing strategy is in line with the overall business strategy
- Liaising with international group counterparts to ensure that all messaging is in line with international standards across all platforms
- Monitoring of sales on an ongoing basis and identifying opportunities to assist in driving sales wherever possible
- Post campaign analysis and presentation of results of all promotions
- Managing a team of 7 internal staff members as well as a min of 3 external agencies
- Managing the appointed media planning agency as well as meeting with relevant media owners to ensure the correct media platforms are utilized to fulfill the overall objective
- Briefing, managing and driving all campaign creative through both internal designers as well as external creative agency. This includes all production in terms of TV, radio, print, digital and photography
- Driving, facilitating and managing PR, which is outsourced to an agency
- Overseeing and monitoring all digital presence including social media platforms, newsletters, ecommerce/website, AdWords, SEO and banner ads

Requirements for this Head of Marketing job in Durban:

- Minimum of 3 - 5 Years relevant experience
- Relevant experience in a similar environment, of which at least 2-3 years mid-senior level managerial experience within the marketing context. Experience of both agency and corporate contexts will be a benefit
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field
- Proven track record of success in senior marketing roles in retail and/or related industries
- Cross-functional team management experience;
- People management skills, including recruitment and selection, performance management, development, motivation and team building;
- Effectiveness in planning/executing major/global events/store openings/exhibitions
- Market Analytics of macro-economic drivers, business trends, marketplace and competitive environment
- Proven experience/skills for new product launches (internal and external)
- Excellent creative skills
